  • Except that the title of the most senior judge at the Central Criminal Court is the Recorder of London (as it is for many other towns and cities e.g. Recorder of Cardiff, Recorder of Newcastle). You've linked to a page suggesting that he's a part-time judge at the start of his career hearing simple cases, instead of which he's been a Senior Circuit Judge (and trying long/serious/complex cases, including murder) since 2012... Page move

The system swallowed most of my explanation for the move, so I'll explain in more detail. I moved it from "Recorder" to "Judge" because (a) "Recorder" by itself is inaccurate, or jargon (if I was at the Bailey, I might tell someone that I was appearing in front of the Recorder, meaning the Recorder of London, but this can easily be confused with appearing in front of a Recorder i.e. a part-time judge); (b) "Recorder of London" would be more accurate but is too detailed and obscure for a headline - "Judge" gets the point across more easily. I moved it from "2016 dates" to "2016 trial date" because the trial date is the most important thing, and the PCMH date is of much less interest. Bencherlite (talk) 12:41, 21 October 2015 (UTC)

I actually found the PCMH more interesting, since it's much more likely to take place on the originally planned date and is likely to include a plea one way or the other. Hard to get that across without straying into analysis, however. BRS ^{(Talk) (Contribs)} 13:18, 21 October 2015 (UTC)

"much less interest" wasn't a good choice of words - I was inelegantly trying to say that someone might be more interested in when the trial will be than when the plea will be taken. A trial (if it takes place) leads to a resolution of the matter; a plea only resolves the matter if it is a guilty plea. Bencherlite (talk) 13:28, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
